The passing of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra, has once again drawn attention to her remarkable family and the legacy she built alongside her late husband, former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Together, the couple raised four children — Dr Zanetor, Yaa Asantewaa, Amina, and Kimathi Rawlings each of whom has charted their own impressive path in various professional fields.

Yaa Asantewaa earned her first degree from the University of Dublin, Ireland, and a Master’s degree from Boston University in the United States.

Each of them, in their own way, reflects the values of discipline, excellence, and courage that defined their parents’ lives. The name Rawlings remains deeply etched in Ghana’s political, social, and historical landscape.
