What is e-levy?
E-Levy is a Levy charged on all mobile money and bank transfer transaction. It is a tax imposed on all electronic transfers charged at the time of transfer. The law is administered
by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and collected through the licensed Bank (ABSA).
How Much E levy Does ABSA Charge?
Absa E-levy is a 1.5% tax instituted by the government on electronic money transfers, including mobile-to-mobile, bank-to-mobile, and mobile-to-bank transactions. The GRA implements the levy through banks, electronic money issuers, payment service providers and specialized deposit-taking companies.

How will the levy be applied?
The ABSA e-levy will be applied on the value (amount) of transfer above GHS 100 on a daily basis. That is, after one hundred Ghana Cedis (GHS 100) a day cumulative transfer, the e-levy will be applied. In other words, if the total amount sent in a day is not more than GHS 100, you will not pay E-levy
