Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Robert Sanchez will start in goal for the Blues when they face Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the clash, Maresca emphasized that he had no initial plans to rotate his goalkeepers but acknowledged the need for flexibility.
“Robert Sanchez will start against Arsenal,” Maresca stated, reaffirming his faith in the Spaniard despite recent changes between the sticks.
Chelsea have alternated between Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen this season, with both goalkeepers making costly errors that have frustrated the club’s management and fans. Jorgensen had recently taken over the number-one spot, featuring regularly in goal. However, Maresca has now opted to return to Sanchez for this crucial fixture.
“Since we started, the idea was not to change goalkeepers, but sometimes you have to modify and be flexible,” he added.
Chelsea will travel to the Emirates Stadium for their final Premier League fixture before the international break, aiming to secure a vital result against their London rivals.
